The results are in… and I am delighted to share that Shaftesbury High School has once again achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award.
 
This marks our third consecutive Gold award and is fantastic recognition of the commitment, hard work and dedication shown by our pupils, staff and partners in providing high-quality physical education, school sport and outdoor education opportunities.
 
I am particularly proud that our inclusive and aspirational approach continues to be recognised at the highest level. The award reflects not only participation and competition, but also the wider personal development opportunities that help our young people build confidence, resilience and success beyond the classroom.

Sports Gold Mark 2024/2025 Award

We are delighted to announce that we have achieved another School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2024/25 academic year!

The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

With a total of young people competing in local inter-school competitions this year, we are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport. As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.
